Manchester United’s pre-season fixtures come to a close tonight, in a game against Italian club Sampdoria. Jose Mourinho will be putting his players through their paces for one last time ahead of the serious stuff starting next Tuesday – and it all kicks off with the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid.
Let’s focus on tonight’s game for now though, and the starting line-up is in. As expected, Nemanja Matic makes his Manchester United debut in the heart of midfielder, and I simply cannot wait to see him in action.
De Gea; Lindelof, Smalling, Blind; Valencia, Matic, Pereira, Pogba, Darmian; Mkhitaryan, Lukaku.

It looks as though we’re playing a 3-5-2 formation once again as the self-proclaimed Special One continues to try things out before the Premier League campaign kicks off.
Victor Lindelof plays, and hopefully, he’ll put in a commanding performance and prove exactly why he should be starting for the Red Devils every week. The same goes for Andreas Pereira, who has had an excellent couple of weeks.
I’m excited to see if we can adapt to this formation, and our midfield certainly looks strong and powerful. The combination of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic has so much potential, and when you add the aforementioned Pereira into the mix, it looks like a great blend on paper.
