Confirmed Starting XI: Man United vs Everton – Lukaku starts

The first of Manchester United’s five cup finals is here. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to capitalise on Tottenham Hotspur dropping points yesterday, a win would be the perfect response to being dumped from the Champions League.

As for the game itself, it’s going to be tricky. Everton are a great side and on their day they’re more than capable of beating anyone, particularly at home. Thankfully, Solskjaer’s United have been better on the road.

The team news is in and it’s clear United are going for the jugular. If they can make a quick start and get an early goal it’d give us something to build from…

David de Gea obviously starts in goal. We’ll need to see a much-improved performance from our #1, who’ll no doubt be tested by Richarlison and company…

In defence there’s no Ashley Young and Luke Shaw is suspended. Once again, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones start as the back two. Victor Lindelof is looking like he’ll play left-back while Diogo Dalot starts over on the right.

Nemanja Matic is fresh off his injury and he’s ready to make his first start in a while at Scott McTominay’s expense. Fred gets another opportunity to impress while Paul Pogba makes up the midfield trio.

The front three is full of pace, power and sheer talent. Romelu Lukaku spearheads the attack with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial starting either side of the big Belgian.
