Confirmed Starting XI: Man United vs Real Salt Lake – Lukaku starts

Manchester United play their second MLS Western Conference side within a couple of days. This time the opponents will be Real Salt Lake, who have been struggling domestically this season. Once again, it’s another chance for the gaffer to get a real look at his squad.

The starting XI is in, and as you’d expect, the boss has mixed things up pretty considerably.

In goal, Joel Pereira starts and he’ll have a back four of Tim Fosu-Mensah, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones and Daley Blind in front of him.

Onto the midfield, and it looks as though it’ll be a three-man team this time. Michael Carrick will sit at the base with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in front of the United captain. This is the first time that young McTominay will take to the field on tour.

Then the front three is where we look strong. Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan play either side of Romelu Lukaku, who’ll be looking to score his first United goal and calm the nerves somewhat.

As per usual, the onus is more on the performance rather than the actual result and Mourinho will be hoping for a good workout for his team.

Starting XI:

Pereira, Fosu-Mensah, Lindelof, Jones, Blind, Carrick, McTominay, Pogba, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku.
