The starting eleven is in, and Jose Mourinho has made a couple of changes to rotate the team somewhat. The manager has chosen to bring Sergio Romero back into the fold, choosing to give David de Gea a well-earned rest. Jose has also brought Marouane Fellaini into the side, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping out.
Manchester United announced the team via their official Twitter feed just moments ago, and it came as a surprise to see that Henrikh Mkhitaryan had dropped out of the squad completely.
Romero, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Fellaini, Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Martial, Ibrahimovic.
Subs: De Gea, Darmian, Rojo, Schweinsteiger, Young, Lingard, Rashford.
The game itself won’t be a walkover. Saint-Etienne are capable of playing some nice stuff, and they do sit fifth in Ligue 1 which says an awful lot about how good of a side they are.
That said, you would imagine that Jose Mourinho’s side will be able to impose their playing style on tonight’s opponents, and head to France next week with a first leg lead under their belts.
