Confirmed Starting XI: Manchester United XI vs San Jose – Garner starts

Manchester United’s second pre-season tour game kicks off in just under an hour, with Jose Mourinho’s men looking to get the first victory of their stay in America.

The self-proclaimed Special One has named his starting line-up, with the manager naming the perfect blend of youngsters and first-team stars.

Joel Pereira gets the nod in goal, with newly-named captain Antonio Valencia starting at right-back. Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling start at centre-half with Luke Shaw making up the back four.

Ander Herrera will play in midfield alongside the young James Garner. It’s going to be interesting to see how the teenager gets on, and I’m genuinely excited to watch him in action.

The front four is where things get most interesting. Andreas Pereira plays, as does Tahith Chong. Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez start, with the duo set to play a major role at the beginning of the season due to other’s participation at the World Cup.

This is an excellent opportunity to get to see some young players in action for the first time, and it’s going to be intriguing to see how they get on while playing with the first-team regulars.
