Manchester United Football Club beat Wigan 2-0 just under a week ago, and today they kick off their pre-season tour with a potentially tricky game against Borussia Dortmund. Our opponents have an extra two weeks training already under their belts, and have already played four matches – winning three and drawing one.
In terms of fitness, the German side will be far superior in that regard, but it won’t stop United from wanting to go out there and put on a show for the fans all across China.
Mourinho has picked a strong looking XI, with Mkhitaryan in the side to face his former club for the first time. Daley Blind will begin the match in what looks like a holding midfielder role, and Memphis Depay finds himself as the lone striker.
It’ll also be great to see Eric Bailly test himself against one of the best strikers in the world – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Johnstone, Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Memphis.
