Confirmed Starting XI: West Ham vs Manchester United – Shaw & Sanchez start

Manchester United can confirm their second-placed finish with at least a point away at Southampton this evening.

Jose Mourinho has named his starting line-up, and it contains eight changes from the team that were embarrassed against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

I suppose the biggest thing to note is that neither Marcus Rashford nor Anthony Martial will get their opportunity to prove they’re worthy of a place in Mourinho’s FA Cup starting XI.

However, there is a chance for Luke Shaw, who is seemingly playing in the left-wing back role, opposite Antonio Valencia. It’s also great to see Scott McTominay recalled to the team after a spell on the substitutes bench.

With Romelu Lukaku out injured, Alexis Sanchez will get this chance to shine through the middle. I’d argue that his best days with Arsenal came as a striker so it’ll certainly be intriguing to see how he gets on alongside Jesse Lingard up top.

I guess all that matters here is that we put in a decent performance. All eyes are now on the aforementioned FA Cup final, as players will be doing what they can to show the manager that they deserve to play in the Wembley showpiece. Hopefully, we get to see an entertaining affair at the London Stadium.
