Coutinho not a Man Utd target, firmly focused on signing Sancho, Grealish & Bellingham: report

Back on March 31st, we covered a story from the Daily Express in which it was claimed that Manchester United were ‘determined’ to sign Philippe Coutinho.

Well, the links to the Brazilian have been pretty frequent over the last couple of months. However yesterday, Manchester Evening News wrote that the 27-year-old is not a Reds target despite those links.

Furthermore, United ‘remain focused’ on signing an English trio this summer; Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jack Grealish.

At first, I bought the Coutinho links. However, you look back at his Liverpool past and his failings at FC Barcelona. This United side is one that’s on the up, so why risk upsetting the applecart?

If it was a straight toss-up between Sancho and Coutinho, I’d opt for the former every single time. Factor in Grealish who’s had a stellar season with Aston Villa and Bellingham who continues to improve at Birmingham City and that’d be a stunning transfer window.

With everything that’s going on right now, making these big-money signings is far easier said than done. Money will be tighter for every club in the world, while who knows how long the transfer window will be open for?

It’s going to be an intriguing summer, that’s for sure…
