Cristiano Ronaldo responds to rumours linking him to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a sensational return to Old Trafford in recent weeks, and according to various reports the 29-year old actually wants to move back due to being unhappy in Madrid. However, quotes from the man himself today, certainly suggest otherwise – and do nothing than reaffirm his happiness in the Spanish capital.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in sensational form once again, as he scored four goals in his last La Liga outing on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo said: “It’s all speculation, speaking about my future. My future is Madrid. I’m happy.

“The season is going well and I’m not talking about my future, it doesn’t make sense.”

Whilst its disappointing to hear that Ronaldo probably won’t be returning, its a move that doesn’t really make sense at the current time. He’s nearing 30, and problems surrounding his knee injury still persist, so it would be a huge gamble considering he’d want over half-a-million pound a week to return to the club he supposedly ‘loves’. At the end of the day, footballers will be footballers and money talks.

It does make me laugh though, because the quotes literally came hours after a group of Manchester United fans decided to pay £3,000 to fly a banner over El Madrigal saying ‘Come home Ronaldo’.
