Manchester United are likely to be in the hunt for a new right-back during this transfer window, particularly as Antonio Valencia has already left the club.
The name that keeps popping up is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. For me, the Englishman would be an outstanding signing should the Red Devils be able to pull it off.
Understandably, though, Crystal Palace are doing all they keep to keep ahold of their 21-year-old starlet. It is being reported by the Daily Mail that The Eagles are demanding £60million for the right-back, in an attempt to deter United from making their move for Wan-Bissaka this summer.
Although this would break the record-fee paid for a full-back, this still seems like an absolute steal in today’s market. You think about the impact that both Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy had at Manchester City and you’d hope Wan-Bissaka could have similar effect if he made the move to Old Trafford.
You get the feeling that United are trying to inject youth into this squad and bringing in Wan-Bissaka (although expensive) would continue with a mantra that has worked so well for this club over the years. Why not get back to our roots, starting with a top addition like this?
