Daley Blind could be a Luke Shaw alternative

Well, it was probably always going to happen. Manchester United have been linked with Dutch left-back Daley Blind, and De Telefraaf reckon he’s an alternative if the Luke Shaw deal does fall through. The 24-year old left-back had an excellent game against Spain, and managed two superb assists to put Holland ahead.

Blind is six years older than Shaw, boasting much more experience in terms of footballing minutes; This can be seen as a good or a bad thing, as Shaw will obviously be playing football for longer than Blind, but that experience could be crucial at first.

Louis van Gaal obviously knows Daley Blind’s game inside out, which once again would be better for Manchester United. He could slot straight into the team, and he’ll already have a good understanding with the obvious focal point for United next season – Robin van Persie.

Luke Shaw is one of the hottest properties in English football at the moment, and he has the potential to be United’s left back for a long while. Personally I’d just edge for Shaw, but I’d be more than happy if we brought Blind in instead.
