Daley Blind posts heartfelt message to his dad following his sacking as Holland boss

Manchester United Football Club have one of the most versatile footballers on the planet on their books at the moment, in the form of Dutchman Daley Blind. Louis van Gaal brought him into the club on the back of Holland’s World Cup success the same year the Iron Tulip took charge at Old Trafford.

Since Van Gaal’s departure, the Holland job has been somewhat of a poison chalice, and Daley Blind’s father, Danny, was given the opportunity to lead his nation. However, this week, he was relieved of his duties following a pretty poor spell in charge.

Now Daley has taken to Instagram to send a real heartfelt message towards his father, as he claims working with his old man was a ‘dream come true’.

Check out the Instagram post here:

It must be really difficult for them both to be honest. Daley will feel partly responsible for the failings of the Dutch national side, and in turn, his dad has lost his job so he’ll be feeling guilty.

I’m sure that, over time, Danny will get over it, it’s just football at the end of the day. Based on the results that Holland have had recently, it felt like the right decision was made – particularly as their World Cup hopes are really hanging on by a thread right now.
