Manchester United Football Club will be looking to progress into the FA Cup last eight tomorrow night, with a potentially tricky tie against Derby County in the offing.
The Old Trafford outfit will be re-uniting with Wayne Rooney, who has been game-changing for Derby since making the move to Pride Park. Ahead of the fixture, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met the media and discussed the all-important team news…
Just as it felt like United were getting bodies back and the injuries were easing up, we’re hit with a double injury blow. The Baby Faced Assassin confirmed that both Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are struggling, with the official club website claiming they’re ‘likely’ to miss out tomorrow night.
“Yeah [James will] probably miss out on this one as well and Marcus and Paul are still out and I think Aaron might be struggling,” Ole told the media, including ManUtd.com.
“He’s got a test today, but he struggled in our last game against Everton with his back, so he might be out.”
In truth, I’m not sure either would have started this game as United have tried to rotate in the cup competitions. In regards to Wan-Bissaka, this does give Diogo Dalot another chance to shine.
The young Portuguese is majorly talented. It’s just the fact that he has another star ahead of him in the pecking order. Now, he’ll get to give Solskjaer a little reminder of his talents.
As for James, we’ve been saying it for a while but he needs a rest. I’m not sure this is the type of way he would’ve liked it to come about – but at least the Wales international has a chance to recharge those batteries.
Hopefully, the issues aren’t too serious and the duo are back in action sooner rather than later. Get well soon, lads!
