Danny Welbeck Up For England Player Of The Year Award

The 22-year old striker is amongst five for the England Player of the Year award,  alongside Joe Hart, Ashley Cole, as well as Liverpool duo Glen Johnson and Steven Gerrard. Welbeck featured for England 11 times in 2012, scoring five goals, which is more than any other player.

Previous United players who’ve won the award include David Beckham and Wayne Rooney who has won it twice and finished second on two occasions.

The prize will be presented as part of the inaugural FA England Awards ceremony, which will take place at St. George’s Park on Sunday 3 February of next year.
