Manchester United made one of the biggest moves of the transfer window last week, by bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in on a free transfer. Now today, reports have emerged suggesting that the influential Swede will not be going on pre-season tour with everyone else.
That’s according to The Guardian, who say that Jose Mourinho wants to give the 34-year-old an extra bit of rest before the season kicks off in the middle of August.
The English media outlet say that Ibrahimovic is now set to be handed his debut on either the 30th July against Galatasaray out in Sweden, or against Everton on August 3rd for Wayne Rooney’s testimonial match.
This means that we’ll have to wait a little longer to see Zlatan don the colours of United, but it’ll certainly be worth the wait. Lets be honest, a fully fit Ibrahimovic will be much more effective than one that has been burned into the ground before the season has already begun.
