Manchester United could have just been handed a major transfer boost, before the window has officially opened. David de Gea looks set to stay at the club, as he revealed his desire to stay at Old Trafford and win more titles under Jose Mourinho.
“People talk a lot and they know little. I know how all this works, but what I think is disrespectful is when people start making out that it’s something I have said. I’ve got three more years on my contract with United and the desire to win more titles here.” David de Gea told Marca.
What a boost for Manchester United. This essentially confirms that the Spaniard is intent on staying at the Theatre of Dreams for at least another season, and it goes to show what kind of impact Jose Mourinho has already had.
David de Gea is arguably our only world class player in the current squad at the moment, and on top form, he certainly wins this club points across the long season.
The ball is in United’s court, as he has plenty of time left on his current contract which he only put pen to paper on late last year.
De Gea has won the last three Sir Matt Busby Player of the year trophies, too.
