David de Gea set for new Manchester United contract

After putting in excellent performances all season long despite playing in a side struggling for any kind of form, David de Gea is in-line for a new Manchester United contact according to the Daily Express. The 23-year old shot-stopper made an excellent double save which pretty much saved our season against Olympiacos on Wednesday.

It seems as though his excellent form has grabbed the attention of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, who will both be in the hunt for new keepers in the not too distant future.

De Gea has been at United for almost three years now, and in that time he has gone from a young timid Spaniard, to one of the best emerging keepers in world football. It is absolutely vital we keep hold of him if we want to improve as a football club.

When quizzed about the possibility of extending De Gea’s contract, Moyes said:

“The club are always going to keep their best players.

“The club will always look to keep the players who they feel they need to.”
