Manchester United have reportedly tied David de Gea down to a new contract, that won’t expire until 2020, according to Sport Mediaset. The Italian media outlet broke the news via their official Twitter website late last night, as Manchester United fans from around the world rejoiced.
However I’d keep calm for now, because I’m not quite sure how an Italian source managed to get the scoop regarding a Spanish keeper who is currently plying his trade in England.
De Gea, 24, is having the season of his life and currently has just under eighteen months left on his current deal at Manchester United. Reds have been calling out for the club to get this deal done sooner rather than later, and the more it drags out, the more concerning it is becoming.
Personally I wouldn’t get too excited about this news just yet, lets just sit tight and wait until something from a reliable source or direct from Manchester United.
