Manchester United and David de Gea have been at loggerheads in one of the sagas of the summer for the duration of the transfer window, and with just a few days left until all business has to be completed, things are beginning to hot up once again.
According to the usually reliable Spanish publication Marca, David de Gea will be within a stones throw of Real Madrid’s Bernabeu Stadium on transfer deadline day – due to international duty.
Spain take on both Slovakia and Macedonia over the next couple of weeks as we take a break from domestic football, and it is expected that the 25-year old shot-stopper will be in-between the sticks for those games, hence the return to his homeland.
Hopefully Real Madrid representatives don’t get too close to De Gea whilst he is there, because at this moment in time its looking like we’ll keep hold of one of the best keepers in the world for at least one more season. It also gives Edward Woodward twelve months to try and persuade the Spaniard to stay at Old Trafford beyond his current contract, however unlikely it may seem.
