David de Gea’s agent hints at move away from Man Utd

Manchester United have been dealt a bit of a blow in regards to David de Gea’s future at the club. The 24-year old goalkeeper has eighteen months left to run on his current deal, and his future really is up in the air at the moment as Real Madrid are lurking over his shoulder regarding a potential move.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, who is regarded as the richest man in football has had his say on the situation:

Mendes said: “David is amazing, he’s brilliant. He’s a Man United player and has a contract there.

“You have to respect that but things change every five minutes.”

These aren’t the most confidence-boosting sentences if you are a Manchester United fan, but at the end of the day Mendes’ job is to get his client the best possible deal, and if he comes out and says how much David loves the club then United will have the upper hand in terms of negotiations.

The best thing to do with this one is to just sit tight, let the club and player sit down and talk about things and hopefully Edward Woodward will offer De Gea what he wants and then everyone will be happy.
