Manchester United have always been simply superb when it comes to nurturing and harnessing young talent. It is a mantra that has served the Red Devils well, so why change that?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is flying the flag high, handing ample minutes to Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, Marcus Rashford and others – and it’s simply superb to see.
Well today, it was the turn of Dillon Hoogewerf, who has committed his long-term future to Old Trafford.
As you can see from the photo below, the United wonderkid has signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils, after a stellar debut campaign with united at youth level.
The 17-year-old only joined United just last summer, but has been a key player since moving from Ajax. You’d imagine that now his future is secured, it’ll allow Hoogewerf to kick it up another level and solely focus on playing his football.
Hoogewerf’s highlight so far has been his excellent form in the FA Youth Cup. The forward has scored three goals in three games, including a goal against the old enemy, Leeds United.
Hopefully, Hoogewerf continues to develop and grow, and possibly we’ll see him on pre-season tour this coming summer.
