Manchester United Football Club has been suffering with injuries since the season’s start. Perhaps that’s down to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s high-pressing game, but I guess we’ll never know…
Amongst those is Diogo Dalot. The young Portuguese has spent far too much time on the treatment table since his arrival last summer – and I hope that’s just bad luck rather than an underlying problem.
Anyway yesterday, the 20-year-old posted photos of himself back in training after being sidelined for six weeks with an injury that he picked up in the game against Newcastle back at October’s start.
Although Dalot wasn’t training with the group, it does show that he’s heading in the right direction – hopefully, to make a return before the turn of the year.
It’s good to see Dalot back in the mix. For all his injury issues, his talent is there for all to see. I don’t think the Red Devils have a full-back who’s crossing ability even comes close to his – which in the modern-day game is vitally important.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the nailed-on starter in the right-back slot, that much is obvious. However, over on the left, there’s a position going. Ashley Young is ageing, Luke Shaw is always injured and Brandon Williams is still learning. Perhaps that’s where Dalot can make his big breakthrough.
