Manchester United Football Club have confirmed that Andreas Pereira has left the club on loan for the second consecutive season. The talented Brazilian heads back to Spain, this time with Valencia CF, where he’ll be hoping to make another good impression in La Liga.
The deal was announced late on Friday night as the Spanish transfer window was open 24 hours later than the English one.
Last campaign, the 21-year-old spent the season playing for Granada where he made a real name for himself. Following that, he was a heavy part of Jose Mourinho’s pre-season tour plans, and personally, I expected him to feature for the Red Devils this season.
To learn that he has been shipped out on loan again is bitterly disappointing and it has to be disheartening for the player. Pereira would have expected to come back into the mix and at least get an opportunity. Unfortunately, he hasn’t even been given that chance to fight for his place.
It just seems like a waste of talent right now. I get the impression that the manager doesn’t fully trust the attacking midfielder which is worrying for me. I now fear that he’ll struggle to break into the first-team here at the Theatre of Dreams.
