Manchester United have been extremely busy during the transfer window up until this point, with Jose Mourinho continuing a major overhaul of the first-team squad. With some brilliant players coming in so far, the outgoings have now seemingly begun.
Today, the club announced that midfielder Joe Rothwell has left the club on a permanent basis. The 21-year-old has agreed a two-year contract down South, after never really having a chance to prove his worth at Old Trafford.
The midfielder has been an everpresent for the youth side at United for years, and has always put in brilliant displays. It’s a real shame that no manager ever gave him that opportunity to showcase all of his abilities, because he would’ve made a great impact – theres no doubt about that.
Sadly, he has moved on, and I’m sure he’ll grow as a player whilst given the regular game-time he deserves.
Good luck, Joe!
