Manchester United Football Club have completed their first bit of major transfer business of the January window, with Morgan Schneiderlin’s exit from Old Trafford confirmed. The French midfielder has joined Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The club confirmed the news on their website earlier today, with Schneiderlin making the move to Merseyside immediately.
Sadly, it never really looked like things were going to work out for Morgan Schneiderlin here, and it honestly felt like he was destined to fail from the start. Ever since his arrival, he has mostly been used as a substitute, and when he was given a rare start he failed to implement his style of play on the match.
During his time here, Schneiderlin played 47 games for the Red Devils. He only found the back of the net once, which ironically came against Everton – the team he is moving to.
He’ll now be reunited with Ronald Koeman, who was his manager for a season during their time at Southampton. I’ve no doubts that he’ll get the best out of the holding midfielder, and he’ll definitely return to the top of his game soon.
Good luck, and all the best for the future Morgan!
