Manchester United Football Club could continue to halt Manchester City’s title win, providing they beat West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford this weekend.
Jose Mourinho’s men play this coming Sunday, and before the game, the Manchester Evening News has come out with the 20-man squad that’ll likely take part in the game.
As you can see below, the names included are pretty much as expected, however, there was no Luke Shaw, Phil Jones or Daley Blind or Marouane Fellaini amongst the group.
To me, the squad certainly looks extremely top-heavy, and that’s another pointer towards the transfer market, in which I fully expect the Red Devils to invest heavily in both the midfield and defence, while leaving the attack largely untouched.
Provisional 20-man squad (per the Manchester Evening News live blog):
Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Joel Pereira, Kieran O’Hara.
Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian.
Midfielders: Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba.
Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku.
Hopefully, the players at hand should be more than enough to get a positive result against an extremely poor West Bromwich Albion side. It’ll certainly be a decent atmosphere inside Old Trafford on Sunday, particularly if Tottenham Hotspur can get one over on Manchester City…
