Manchester United’s Edward Woodward addressed the media this morning, to go over things like the club debts levels (which have decreased), the fans, ticket prices and the club in general. During that he was asked about his thoughts about the emergence of the Chinese spending big money on players.
When asked about the Chinese footballing market spending big money, Woodward replied:
“(Its) Very difficult to predict the impact will have. (It could be) Useful market if we are looking to sell any players.”
At the end of the day, if Manchester United can exploit that market by getting the most money possible for players they’re after selling, then so be it.
A starting point would certainly getting rid of the likes of Marouane Fellaini who doesn’t really fit that Manchester United mantra, and who knows, we could well make a profit on the big Belgian.
I’m not quite sure coming out and openly admitting he’s looking to use that market is the best idea though…
