Manchester United need to bolster their midfield in January if possible, and well, the perfect player could have fallen nicely into their lap.
The story comes from a combination of both Calciomercato and the Daily Express. The former start that Juventus are ready to allow 25-year-old midfielder Emre Can to leave in January, while the latter adds that United is his most likely destination.
Furthermore, the German currently has a £39million release clause, though he could well be allowed to leave for as little as £15million – which is an absolute bargain for a player of his calibre.
To add more, the former Liverpool man is likely to jump at the chance of leaving Turin, despite only joining in the summer of 2018.
I always maintain that it’s extremely tricky to buy in the mid-season window. Realistically, the only sort of deals that get done involved unhappy players. Fortunately for United, Can is exactly that. He’s not playing for Juventus right now and he’ll be looking to move on as swiftly as possible.
The only real issue is the fact that they’ll probably be other interested parties, particularly at the quoted price. Then you have to factor in his Liverpool background. Will that play a part? I guess it’s down to both Can and United…
