England right-back no longer a Man Utd target

Manchester United are clearly looking to bring in a new right-back to the club this summer, and reports a few weeks ago suggested that a deal for Nathaniel Clyne was all-but done and he’d follow Depay through the Old Trafford doors.

However according to The Telegraph, the Southampton right-back is no longer a target of Louis van Gaal’s, which probably means that United are close to signing someone else in that spot.

That someone is anyones guess, but at the moment it looks as though the experienced Dani Alves is the name on every bodies lips.

It does seem a bit odd that United have done a complete U-turn on Clyne though. Perhaps Louis van Gaal got wind that the 24-year old is now happy to stay at his current club rather than moving on this summer.

Would Clyne be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
