Manchester United are a club who have spent plenty of money in recent years, with the club sanctioning big money moves for the likes of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, and Angel di Maria. Not every transfer pays off, and that is the case with the £25million man Memphis Depay.
The 22-year-old got plenty of starts under Louis van Gaal at the beginning of last season, but since then, you have to say he hasn’t really been given a proper run to prove his worth.
That has led to question marks about his long-term future and commitments at the Theatre of Dreams, with several teams coming in to try and acquire the services of the Dutchman.
Now, the Liverpool Echo say that the latest team to show an interest in Depay is Everton, who want to take the left-winger on a loan deal from January until the end of the season.
This would definitely be a smart move by Manchester United. It will allow him the time to play and adapt to the Premier League game, with the Red Devils having the option to bring him back for the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign.
