Manchester United’s participation in the International Champions Cup continues with a huge game against FC Barcelona. The Red Devils are undefeated on pre-season tour thus far, and once again, they’ll pit their wits against one of the best teams in football.
Jose Mourinho’s mind has been hard to predict so far. However, we’ve seen him deploy a whole host of different formations. He’s using the United States tour to test things out, and I’d expect that to continue with the use of a different formation once again – perhaps a 4-4-2.
Man United predicted XI vs FC Barcelona
In goal, Joel Pereira will likely get at least a half to prove what he can do once again. He’ll have a pretty solid back four in front of him too. Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia will play as the full-backs, with arguably our most talented back two of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly making up the defence.
Then, we have a midfield four. Juan Mata should be back from injury as he looks to get some much-needed minutes under his belt. Alongside the Spaniard will be Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba and the electric Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is having a brilliant tour so far.
Then comes the most exciting part of the team; Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford as the strike partnership. How exciting is this duo? You have the power, physicality and composure of Lukaku, partnered with the pace, excitement and precision of Rashford. A match made in heaven if you’re playing with a two-striker system.
