Manchester United left-back Fabio Da Silva has indicated that he wants to leave Old Trafford in January, as he searches for regular first-team football to progress his career. Many forget that Fabio started the 2011 Champions League final in the right-back slot, but since then it has all gone down hill for the Brazilian.
He has witnessed his twin brother push on to the next level and assert himself in that right-back slot, whereas Fabio found himself on loan at Queens Park Rangers last term.
Fabio told ESPN Brasil:
“I don’t know man. I think the time has come and maybe in the next window or even next season, I might leave. There are good possibilities,”
“I’m looking for other clubs. There’s nothing certain, we’ll leave it for later.
“I want to be happy man. I want to play to be happy, I want to be close to my family. I may go back to Brazil, or maybe not. “I’m checking with my manager to see what is the best for me.”
It’ll be sad in a sense as Rafael and Fabio have always been inseparable, but with Patrcie Evra and Alex Buttner ahead of Fabio in the left-back pecking order, now is probably the right time to call time on his Manchester United career.
