The Manchester United duo of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have been named in the latest BBC Team of the Week after the Red Devils’ late win over Brighton.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have undoubtedly been unhappy with the performance from his team. However, the result would have delighted him.
It was far from perfect but the boys never gave up, dug in and won all three points in the 100th minute. Fergie time never dies, eh?
On the day, United needed their superstars to step up to the plate. After a sluggish start, Bruno Fernandes certainly did that, picking up a goal and an assist. As did Marcus Rashford, who scored a truly brilliant individual goal.
For their performances, the star United duo were named in the BBC’s Team of the Week and rightly so, too.

Honestly, what’s there left to say about Bruno? He has been absolutely sublime from minute one, single-handedly changing our fortunes. The passing, directness, arrogance, genius. He has it all.
The Portuguese wasn’t even good against Brighton, yet he still somehow ended the game with a goal and an assist. Truly unbelievable.
As for Rashford, the work he has done off the field speaks for itself. He did receive some criticism for letting that distract him from March onwards. However, this weekend, he cannot be accused of that.
Hopefully, the Englishman now feels the confidence flowing and can take that into the remainder of the season.
At this time, I try and suggest other United players who potentially should have been included in Garth Crooks’ BBC XI. Outside of Harry Maguire, who played a real captain’s performance, I’m seriously struggling for contenders. I just hope the whole squad is lifted after the result on Saturday and they all start to perform better…
