Figures at Man Utd hope a deal with Mauricio Pochettino can be done this summer: report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now been in charge of Manchester United for over twelve months. After a stunning start as the interim gaffer, the Baby Faced Assassin has thrown up a real mixed bag since.

I think fans are split right down the middle in regards to whether Solskjaer is the correct hire or not – which is understandable given the topsy-turvy displays.

A name often thrown in the ring as a potential replacement is Argentine Mauricio Pochettino – who is currently out of work following being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur before the turn of the year.

Anyway, according to the Independent, figures at United still remain hopeful that a deal for the 47-year-old manager can be completed over the summer…

First and foremost, I feel like that’s a little disrespectful to Ole. These could be people who are working with the Norweigan from time-to-time and it’s a little sad to disrespect a club legend like that.

With that said, you can’t deny Pochettino feels like a good fit. I do worry about how his time ended with Spurs, though he has definitely made the North Londoners a far better side than they were when he arrived.

For now, I think we have to push on with Solskjaer, give him our backing until at least the summer and see where we’re at. Personally, I like what he’s trying to build and it seems the logical option to give him as much time as possible.
