Five things we learnt in Man Utd’s 0-0 draw with Cambridge

1. The lads look out of ideas

Its rather worrying when Manchester United have 80% of possession against League Two opposition and cannot do anything at all with it. Louis van Gaal has a huge task on his hands here, and he needs to get the team playing decent football again.

2. Wayne Rooney needs to play every game

Manchester United missed Wayne Rooney massively last night. His energy, commitment and desire was certainly lacking, and no doubt he would’ve driven the team to higher levels if he would have featured.

3. Louis van Gaal just doesn’t fancy Ander Herrera

The game changed once again when Ander Herrera took to the field. He offers that ability to run with the ball which our other central-midfielders don’t. I have absolutely no idea why, but Louis van Gaal clearly just doesn’t like his play style for some reason.

4. Marcos Rojo is a warrior

Probably our best player on the night. He flew into tackles left, right and centre, and looked the only real player who was up for the fight. He has to stat every game from here, and hopefully his commitment will rub off on the other players.

5. Adnan Januzaj definitely has something to offer

Januzaj has been somewhat of a forgotten man at United this season, but last night he was by far and away our biggest threat going forward. He wasn’t afraid to have a go at the sturdy Cambridge defence and more often than not he ended up firing a decent ball into the box. He will have certainly gave Louis van Gaal something to think about.
