Five-year deal, £190,000-a-week, Man United trying to get superstar tied down: report

Manchester United have several players whose contract wind down this coming summer, with the Red Devils doing what they can to tie the important players down to new deals.

One name they’d like to keep around is the in-form Anthony Martial. Now, in an exclusive, The Sun say that the Frenchman is set to be offered a huge five-year contract worth £190,000-a-week to remain at Old Trafford.

If Martial were to see out that contract, he’d pocket a huge £45million during that time, which, when you consider money in football these days, it’d cost at least that to replace the superstar Frenchman.

To me, it feels like a no-brainer. United should just give Martial pretty much whatever he wants to stick around. Let’s be real, we need him. He’s our best goal source at present, and the pace, directness and sheer ability is unmatched.

United do have the option to extend his current contract by a further year if they so choose, but it’d be nice to have that luxury of not having to worry about losing him in a year on a free transfer, so hopefully, he signs on the dotted line in the not too distant future.
