Former player tells Man Utd they have to drop pair of players from starting line-up

Manchester United have definitely relied heavily on youth for large portions of this season, which has largely been down to a whole host of injuries decimating the first team squad. However many of those youngsters have done well, and for the most part, played better than the senior figures.

That feeling is obviously the same for former Arsenal player-turned-pundit Ian Wright, who has called for Louis van Gaal to drop both Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo to persist with youth.

“Manchester United should drop Darmian and Rojo to play Fosu-Mensah and Borthwick-Jackson.” Ian Wright said.

Whilst I’m all for playing the youngsters, its probably a bit too soon for both of these two. Borthwick-Jackson did superbly earlier on in the season, and Fosu-Mensah is doing exactly the same now. However, neither can play right-back all that well, and having them both in would probably be too much inexperience for a key area of the field.
