Manchester United sealed a move to sign Brazil midfielder Fred before the World Cup, in what has been the Red Devils’ standout signing thus far.
Although we had expected to see our new man in action during Russia 2018, his manager confirmed that the 25-year-old was suffering from an injury, one presumably he wasn’t planning on aggravating.
Now, though, the hard work starts for him at Old Trafford. This is a new chapter in his career, and without a doubt, his toughest test to date.
No doubt he cannot wait to get going, and put himself through several training sessions against some of the best players on the planet. Before it all, Fred has taken to Instagram to send a classy message to the fans; which will no doubt only further endear him to his new followers.
It may only seem like a small gesture, but us United fans appreciate it. Pulling on that jersey, with pride no less, means an awful lot to us. He’s clearly excited at the prospect of donning our famous red colours, now it’s down to business.
Although he didn’t play out in Russia, he’ll likely get some extra time off as he looks to fully recover. We may not see him in action during the early parts of the tour, but it’s vital that he does play some role; if only to get to know his new teammates on a personal level.
