The January transfer window is rapidly approaching, with Jose Mourinho clearly looking to invest in new players if the right deal does arise. One man who has seemingly been eyed up by the self-proclaimed Special One is SL Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United have opened talks with the Portuguese club about the possibility of a £38million move to the Theatre of Dreams for the 22-year-old.
Sky add that Benfica are reluctant to sell the talented defender, due to the fact that they have progressed through to the knockout stages of the Champions League – and he’ll obviously bolster their chances of progressing further as he’s a regular starter.
Lindelof, a full Swedish international, already has over ten caps for his country and close to thirty league appearances out in Portugal at the moment.
The report goes on to discuss possible outgoings, and Sky say that all of Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger have been linked with moves away from Manchester United, and Jose Mourinho has indicated that he is willing to sell.
