Manchester United Football Club could be on the verge of completing one of the biggest signings of the summer transfer window so far, with a move for Alvaro Morata edging closer. That’s according to Sky Sports News, which is a great boost for the Old Trafford side.

The report says that Jose Mourinho sees the Spaniard as the ideal replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who hasn’t had his contract at the club renewed.

Sky say that Morata is keen on a move to the Premier League, and if Edward Woodward can agree upon a fee with Real Madrid, then personal terms will not be a problem and a deal should be completed.

Over to you then, Ed. Negotiations with Madrid will not be easy, and no doubt they’ll try to eek out every single penny from United because, well, it just makes good business sense.

With that in mind, it may be quite a while before we hear anything concrete because when there is a huge amount of money involved, working out every tiny detail is of vital importance.

Madrid are thought to be holding out for close to the £80million mark which is obviously an obscene amount of money – but here is to hoping that a deal can get worked out eventually…
