Manchester United Football Club were outplayed by Juventus at Old Trafford last night. Jose Mourinho’s men were second best throughout the encounter.
That puts the Red Devils’ chances at winning their Champions League group to slim-to-none, while qualification through to the knockout rounds is now also in doubt. The game itself was a forgettable one for nine players. David de Gea was his brilliant best as per usual, however, there was one other standout performer; Victor Lindelof.
The Ice Man comfortably had his best ever game in United colours, and he even earned praise from arguably the greatest full-back in Red Devils history, as Gary Neville took to Twitter to express his delight at the ‘excellent’ Lindelof.
Disappointing overall but I thought Lindelof was excellent..

Interceptions, reading of the game, overall defensive ability. Lindelof had it all. Keeping an attack, spearheaded by Cristiano Ronaldo no-less, relatively quiet, deserves huge praise.
He has certainly come a long way from that horror show at Huddersfield Town which took place about this time last year. Sure, he’s still raw, but he has improved massively to start this campaign. We’re starting to see why Mourinho took the decision to spend big to bring him into the Theatre of Dreams.
