Manchester United have their new permanent manager. It truly is wonderful to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge of the club he so deeply loves.
Many, myself included, had doubts about him getting the job for good when he first took charge – but he silenced those within the space of a month.
Eventually, it always looked like he’d be the one to get the job for good, and he obviously deserves it.
The praise and plaudits have been flooding in, with the latest coming from Gary Neville. The ex-United right-back took to Twitter to send a brilliant congratulatory message to his former teammate.
Neville sums it up perfectly. He has lifted the spirits in the dressing room and amongst the fans, now, he needs to be rewarded in the transfer market. Let him bring in the players he wants as he needs the guys who fit his style perfectly.
This is where the club failed last summer and that’s probably what cost Jose Mourinho his job. Although the Glazer family know the fans will be more tolerable with Ole, he needs money to spend.
The good news about the early appointment is the fact that Solskjaer now has time to do extensive scouting and work out exactly where his budget should be spent.
