Manchester United finally wielded the axe on Jose Mourinho, calling time on the Portuguese’s spell at Old Trafford. Wherever your loyalties lie, most would agree that it was the right decision.
However, the blame is not solely at his door. The players need to take some culpability, as do the powers that be at the Theatre of Dreams.
Perhaps one of the biggest reasons why Mourinho lost his job was his fall out with Paul Pogba. It’s fair to say that the Frenchman doesn’t help himself sometimes, and that seems to be the case once again, if his latest social media activity is anything to go by.
Now, United legend Gary Neville has fired back, with a simple, but meaningful tweet clearly aimed at United’s #6.
You know what, I applaud Neville. It’s hard putting loyalties to one side, but in terms of his job as a football reporter and commentator, he does it so excellently.
Neville is right, we don’t need this kind of childish behaviour at Old Trafford, and Pogba is acting like a petulant child this season. If he wants to remain at United, he has to cut that out and concentrate on his football, because it’s fair to say he has been bang-average in two-and-a-half years so far. That has to change.
