Gary Neville urges Manchester United to try and sign world-class attacker

Manchester United Football Club had a cracking transfer window in terms of incomings. Jose Mourinho is continuing to fix the holes within the current squad, and slowly but surely, we’re looking more and more like a team that could challenge for the title.

However, it is still a work in progress for the Red Devils, and one name recently linked with a potential move to the Theatre of Dreams is none other than Alexis Sanchez. As the aforementioned article states, the talented Chilean is out of contract next summer, and this coming January will be the only time that Arsenal can get any sort of fee for him, before they’ll lose him on a free transfer.

I’d love for us to try and get ourselves in the mix to sign Sanchez, because he was one of the best players in the Premier League last term. That’s a view echoed by none other than Gary Neville too…

“I’ve not seen the Alexis Sanchez news, so you have given me something I haven’t heard before, but, from that point of view, United, from a general perspective, should always be challenging for the best players in the world and bringing them in,” Neville told Sky Sports News, as per the Manchester Evening News’ live blog.

“Sanchez has been distracted at Arsenal for the last six months. His career at Arsenal, I couldn’t say a bad word about him until two or three months before the end of last season.

“I did feel he became distracted. Let’s see how he performs this season at Arsenal. Ultimately he is still building up his fitness, he’s still not in the team.”

Of course, any team would be better if Sanchez was on their books. He’s world-class, and only a handful of sides will be able to afford his signature. Thankfully, Manchester United are one of the sides that could pay him his likely high weekly demands and I would be surprised if we’re not in the mix to try and snag his signature.
