Gossip: Arturo Vidal could still make Manchester United move

In what is rapidly turning into the transfer saga of the summer, Manchester United are readying a huge £48million bid for Arturo Vidal, claim La Gazzetta dello Sport. Contact has also been made with Vidal’s agent, about potential wages if he were to come to Old Trafford.

Fernando Felicevich is due to arrive in Turin later to speak to Juventus about any potential move, and the club will be made aware that Vidal has been offered £6.3million-a-year to make the move to Manchester, plus performance based bonuses.

These figures are believed to be almost double what Vidal currently earns in the Serie A, hence the reason he may well be tempted into a move.

Its worth noting that La Gazzetta dello Sport are usually quite reliable when it comes to Juventus transfers, and we’ll certainly know a lot more later today, as Vidal has arrived back in Turin for talks.

If Ed Woodward can pull this one off he has well and truly pulled our pants down. We’ve all been led to believe that a deal for Vidal was dead in the water, potentially allowing the clubs to go about their business quietly.

The thought of a midfield duo of Ander Herrera and Arturo Vidal is certainly an exciting one, and obviously far superior than what we’ve been used to at Old Trafford in recent years.
