Manchester United and Liverpool fans have been locked in an off-field debate over the last few weeks, with the sides arguing about whether Anthony Martial or Divock Origi is the better player. Today, we’ve decided to put this argument to bed by comparing their Premier League campaigns.
The evidence seems conclusive, and Manchester United’s £38million man quite convincingly comes out on top.
Anthony Martial wins the goals battle, having found the back of the net three times more than Origi, with the Belgian scoring five league goals. Martial also has three assists compared to Origi’s one.
Heres where it gets really one sided though. martial has 32 key passes to Origi’s 8, and 76 take-ons whereas Origi has just fourteen. Finally in terms of chances made, Martial has made 35 goalscoring opportunities to Origi’s nine.
