Graphic: Manchester United man named in European Team of the Season so far

Manchester United safely progressed into the quarter-finals of the Europa League just before the international break, with Jose Mourinho’s men beating FC Rostov over two legs. In the round of eight, the Red Devils will take on Anderlecht, with the first game away in Belgium in mid-April.

I think it’s fair to say that we’ve been pretty good in the Europa League on the whole, with Mourinho’s men finding some excellent consistency. One guy who I personally thought would get the chance to rest for our contintental fixtures this season was Paul Pogba, but instead, the Frenchman has played quite a lot.

Not only that, though, the 24-year-old has probably put in his most convincing performances in that competition. That is backed up by the fact that WhoScored.com have included him in their European Team of The Season so far.

The most expensive player in the world boasts an impressive 7.7 rating, beaten only by the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar which tells you everything you need to know.

At the end of the day, when you transfer for such an astronomical amount of money, the pressure is always going to be on your shoulders. That’s the case with Pogba, and every little thing he does wrong is sadly magnified tenfold.

I’ve been pretty pleased with his first season back in Manchester though, and I only expect him to get better.
