Machester United Football Club stuck four past Everton over the weekend as Jose Mourinho’s men keep up their brilliant start to the season. The Red Devils have to be happy right now, but they’ll know that it’s just the beginning and there is an awful long way to go.
One of the goalscorers in the aforementioned match was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who found the back of the net for the first time this season. Our midfield Armenian is under no illusions, and he has been speaking to the media about just how the Old Trafford club are going to cope without Paul Pogba.
Our Frenchman picked up the injury during the 3-0 victory over FC Basel, and Mkhitaryan has admitted that it’s going to be very difficult without the 24-year-old, but Mourinho will know how to make up for that.
‘It’s hard because he’s a top player for us,’ the Armenian told French outlet SFR Sport, as per The Metro.
‘It’s going to be very difficult, but the coach knows how to make up for that.
‘We are going to help him come back stronger.’
There seems to be a real unity within the dressing room at the moment and that’s key to any potential title challenge. Manchester United seem to be in a much better place right now, which is exactly what you’d expect due to the fact that the manager has now had a year to put his stamp on things.
You look directly at Mkhitaryan. This time last season he wasn’t even in the team. Now, he already has five assists and a goal to his name and he’s brimming with confidence.
The onus will be on him to become the creative force within our team in Pogba’s absence, and he made a good start against Everton as he carved the Toffees open on multiple occasions.
