Herrera: This is how Man United overcame Blackburn at the weekend

Manchester United Football Club came from behind to ensure victory against Blackburn on Sunday afternoon, in a game that wasn’t as straightforward as many people thought. Jose Mourinho did go home a happy man, however, as United managed to turn around a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1.

After the victory, Ander Herrera was speaking to Manchester United’s official channel about exactly how him and his teammates were able to overturn the Championship side, and he certainly makes some very good points.

“I think we played very serious,” Herrera told ManUtd.com“We can be very happy with the attitude of everyone. It’s not always enough to come with a good attitude, you must come with the best attitude.”

“It is never easy to come here because the opponents in these types of games always play with everything to beat us. Every second ball is important, every set-play is important because if you lose the ball in your half you are in trouble,” he continued.”

“I think we can be very happy with everyone because the attitude was fantastic and we have the quality, so when the attitude is very good, sooner or later the goal will come.”

It’s always so important to not underestimate the opposition, and if the players did that, they definitely got an early wake-up call when Danny Graham opened the scoring.

Ander Herrera himself had a quiet first half, but as the game progressed he grew into it, and began taking control of the middle of the park alongside Paul Pogba when he came on the field.

The Manchester United eleven stuck to their game plan, and eventually, their quality shone through – as a moment of magic from the aforementioned Pogba combined with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who duly slotted home.
