Earlier in the week, Manchester United Football Club learned that Phil Jones would be on his way back to the Aon Training Complex with a suspected injury. As the Englishman collided with Chris Smalling in training; ruling him out of the two Three Lions games.
Now, it looks as though The Telegraph have been able to provide us with further information regarding the injury, and they say he has a suspected broken toe.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time for the self-proclaimed Special One, with Manchester United preparing for a hectic April following the current international break.
It is a shame for Jones because he would have been looking forward to representing his country for what seems like the first time in ages due to a long list of lengthy injuries.
Hopefully, he doesn’t let this latest issue get him down, as we need him to come back fighting and play a part in our final push for success both domestically and in Europe.
For me, alongside Eric Bailly, Jones has been our most consistent performer at the back, and it does leave us quite short on numbers in a real key area of the field. It’ll be interesting to see how the manager plays this one.
